Hon. Aliyu Aminu Garu was born in the city of Bauchi near Alkali Aminu House, along Gombe Road on 30th September 1962, Hon. Aliyu is a first-term Member of the House of Representatives in the 10th National Assembly representing Bauchi Federal Constituency of Bauchi State on the platform of the People Democratic Party (PDP).
