Hon. Shettima is a returning member representing Bursari/Geidam /Yunusari Federal Constituency in the 10th House of Representatives under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He has served as Chairman Care-Taker Committee, and also the Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Media and Public Affairs in the 9th Assembly. He had also served in Yobe State House(1991-1993).
