Sen. Godswill is currently serving his second-term as a Senator representing Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial District in the 10th National Assembly under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He is currently serving as the Senate president of the 10th senate, and had served as Governor of Akwa Ibom State (May 29, 2007 – May 29, 2015). Before venturing into politics, Sen. Godswill began his early career as a teacher and as an associate partner with Paul Usoro and Co., later joined EMIS Telecoms Limited, where he also served as the National Publicity Secretary of the Association of Telecommunication Companies in Nigeria, (ATCOM), while a director of EMIS.
